The Pacific Crest Trail Association divides the PCT into 500-mile sections, each of which is further divided into 100-mile sections. They use these sections to organize groups for trail maintenance, hiker/rider support and more. Because I am doing the trail a little differently than most, (see Christie's Trail here) I have divided the trail into much smaller sections than is typical. My sections are approximately 20 miles each. Thus, this website is (eventually) going to offer detailed information about the entire length of the trail, broken into 20 mile segments.

The Trail
  • Section A - Southern California - 700 miles of deserts and mountain ranges
  • Section B - Central California - The Sierra Nevada Mountains
  • Section C - Northern California - From the southern Cascades to the Big Bend
  • Section D - Oregon - Relatively easy travel through deep old growth forests, punctuated by volcanoes, ridges and lakes
  • Section E - Washington - From the Columbia Gorge through the rugged North Cascades
